Sources tell YWN, that the bomb squad in Yerushalayim is confirming a suspicious device to be explosive.
The drama unfolded on Friday afternoon, when someone called the police for a suspicious package found on Rechov Eli Hakohen, near Rechov Penina – in the Ezras Torah section of the city.
Numerous police and bomb squad units were dispatched to the scene, and deployed the “robot” to test the package. The results were shocking to the neighborhood; an explosive device had been placed in a highly populated, residential neighborhood.
YWN Israel has learned that police do not believe it is terror-related, but rather criminal. In any event, police have launched an investigation, but most importantly, the device was defused before exploding.

AND why was the neighborhood shocked??….have they not heard about suspicious explosives, bombs, terror devices put in populated areas before.
Or is the attitude, OH the Arabs know that we are not the aggresive Zionist enemy so therefore we are safe & secure.
Zionflag, please rise above your ant-chareidi prejudice; this is not an issue of attitude. ANYONE, yourself included, would be shocked to discover that an explosive device was found near their home. Yes, we all know that there is disease, terrorism and violent crime in the world but the natural human reaponse when it hits very close to home is shock. Of course it could happen to anyone, but our psyches expect routine. When a person hears of a murder next door, a bomb in his backyard, the diagnosis of a life-threatening disease, and so on, it is normal to be shocked. Of course, if you want to look at a particular community with a jaundiced eye, it is your free choice.
