Does the thought of bacon soda turn your stomach? Wait until you try it.
A parade of New Yorkers grimaced and retched after sips of the pig-inspired pop unveiled by Jones Soda Co. – or just at the sound of it.
“That tastes disgusting,” griped Tyrone Wallace, 26, of Brooklyn. “It made me want to throw up.”
Jones boasts that its bacon soda is vegetarian friendly and kosher. Those who tried it said it tastes like swill.
Half of more than 40 people approached refused the taste test.
David Horowitz was among a brave handful of Orthodox Jews willing to sample the swine-flavored soda.
“My mother is rolling over at this one, but I will give it a try,” said Horowitz, 46, who provided a running commentary as he guzzled.
“Tastes like beef or something. It’s quite strong, and thick. Oh! And it is gross! Who would want that?”

Is it Kosher? I’m sure this drink never came close to Chazir!
I guess it is if an orthodox jew tried it (when i saw it on foxnews.com i didn’t think it was)
This company always makes bizarre flavors. According to the Star-K website, the following Jones sodas are certified kosher when indicated. The bacon flavor isn’t on there, most likely because it’s newer than the list.
“(when bearing Star-K) Black Cherry, Broccoli Casserole, Brussel Sprouts, Corn on the Cob, Cranberry, Cream, Fufu Berry, Ginger Ale, Green Bean Casserole, Herb Stuffing, Lime Cola, Mashed Potato, Orange, Pecan Pie, Pink Grapefruit, Pumpkin Pie, Root Beer, Smoked Salmon, Chocolate Fudge, Turkey & Gravy.”
To add on to my previous comment, according to the following letter the bacon soda IS kosher certified by Star-K.

Yitzyy, if Tyrone Wallace, who presumably has tasted real real bacon, says this stuff is disgusting, why do you want to buy it?

Matjas herring flavored soda. When will they make it?
