When I was in Yeshivah, Shiur Klali took the place of regular shiur and I’m pretty certain the kollel there was learning the same thing or at least had learned the material. There was also a chazara shiur given by each Rebbe to his shiur later on in the day. I think whoever fell asleep in regular shiur fell asleep there too and those that wouldn’t didn’t. Those that weren’t interested at all usually stayed in their rooms.
