The Verrazano Bridge toll is $13. I think Zahavasdad is talking about using the Holland (?) Tunnel to get to NJ and then the NJ Turnpike to the Goethals Bridge where you get a carpool rate into Staten Island. Then on the way back to Brooklyn from Staten Island, the Verrazano is free.
