What Voters Need To Know Before Heading To The Polls (NY/NJ/CT)


As people gear up to head to the polls Tuesday morning, YWN has all the information you need to make sure your voice is heard.

In New York City, polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. In order to get familiar with the ballot you’ll be using, you can get additional information by clicking here.

If people encounter any problems they are encouraged to call 311, or may take to their Twitter accounts and tweet their problems by using the hash tag #nycvotes.

In addition, people can call 1-866-VOTE NYC or TTY-212-487-5496.

Throughout New York State, people can begin voting at 6 a.m. and have until 9 p.m. to get their voices heard. In order to familiarize yourself with the type of voting machine you’ll be using, you can click here.

If you run into any problems, the state Board of Elections Voter information service wants you to call 800-367-8683. For TDD/TTY, you can an al the New York State Relay 711. In addition, the office of State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli will be answering complaints regarding privacy issues, technical difficulties, trouble reading ballots and late opening of polling sites at 888-OSC-4555.   1. please be aware that there is a vote required on the BACK of the New York ballot concerning term limits. Now that our esteemed mayor has overturned our previous vote to limit the term, he graciously is giving us another chance to decide what we want. please be sure to turn over your ballot and vote!
