More stuff I discovered: According to a web site about names, Shprintza is “possibly” from Esperanza which means “hope” (as Bear said) and Esperanza comes from the late Latin Sperantia.
I can easily imagine Sperantia turning into Shprintza. Interestingly, Shpresa is an Albanian name meaning hope.
