Ayn Rand, born a Jew, was an outspoken atheist and hedonist. She found no purpose in the commandments to take care of the welfare of our fellows or respect the established relationships of others, and justified her self-centered behavior with elaborate logical arguments. She considered religion of all sorts to be contrary to reason. Her “Collective” of followers had many of the characteristics of a religious cult.
