Popa -For you to equate obesity with smoking is plain silly. Not all the times does obesity cause disease. It’s a co-factor for heart disease. No, I’m not advocating being overweight, but smoking causes directly many diseases such as heart disease, cancer and not just lung cancer. Go to the gov. web sites and you will find many more statistics on smoking. I recently heard a lecture from an oncologist who said if everyone would stop smoking today, in 60 years from now, we in the medical field would still be dealing with diseases from smoking! We don’t have enough health dollars to deal with this kind of burden on our health system.
