In fact. the Gemara says that a person is obligated to praise Hashem for the negative events in life just as he does for the positive ones. One must be a “Baal-Madrega” to accomplish that. But, to celebrate (and thank Hashem) when things DO work out and recognize the hand of Hashem is a basic obligation. Especially, when there is a touch of the mysterious about it.
