Traffic Agent Allegedly Assaulted By Driver

Bronx, NY – An NYPD Traffic Agent was assaulted by a driver just as he was about to ticket him for double parking, PIX 11 News has learned.

The incident occurred Tuesday around 9 a.m. in front of 1268 Virginia Avenue.

An NYPD Traffic Enforcement Agent — who has not been identified — was issuing a double-parking summons when the driver — clearly irritated — allegedly began to assault him. The suspect fled on foot, leaving his car behind.

The traffic agent was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition with a fractured skull.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelyy visited the victim in the hospital.

The suspect is described as an Hispanic male about 6-feet tall and 165 pounds.

So far, no arrests have been made.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

  1. The suspect causing this is an arrogant and obnoxious NYPD member, no one should hit or hurt, but the root of the problem must be eliminated as well.
