This usually happens when there is no mitzvah tanz. I think it is a very emotional moment when the Kallah dances with her father and the brothers come in as well to have the honor of dancing with the Kallah. It is family thing and a family choice at a family simcha. Whether other people approve or not should really not be fodder for discussion it will only breed loshan horah.
