When a petty thief turned burglar got caught red handed, we could only hope he learns his lesson and quits his criminal profession. On Thursday morning September 16th at approximately 1:00AM members of the Flatbush Shomrim trailed Filipe Walthrust, an East New York resident for nearly two hours. After checking several homes for unlocked doors, Filipe found success as he entered a home at the corner of Avenue W and East 24th street.  He left the occupied home with a laptop and the victims wallet. To his disadvantage, his success ended when members of Flatbush Shomrim already contacted the local precinct where waiting police officers slapped on the cuffs. Flatbush Shomrim thanked the officers of the 61st precinct for their swift response.
