anybody who claims that zionism started the trend of arabs wanting to kill jews apparently doesn’t know history in the slightest bit. The arabs yemach shemam have always professed a desire to kill us. The reason for saying the tefilah for our chayalim has nothing to do w/zionism. It is a halacha!!!! Remember w/o these soldiers the yeshivot and the kollilem wouldn’t be able to function. So shame on anyone who doesn’t say the tefila.
