The Idaho Anne Frank Memorial was vandalized in Downtown Boise Saturday night. Vandals toppled the bronze statue of the Jewish-German girl whose diary of her thoughts while hiding from the Nazis during World War Two has made her one of history’s most revered figures.
The statue of Frank, who died in a concentration camp, was damaged on the head and the finger. The Boise memorial was erected with the help of one-point-eight (M) million dollars in donations
Now, officials at the Idaho Human Rights Education Center say they aren’t certain just how long it will take to restore the damaged statue and park. It’s unclear if the crime was motivated by hate.
