This past Sunday, May 20, 2007, the Satmar Rebbe Shlita from Kiryas Yoel graced the Five Towns and Far Rockaway with a visit – delivering a message that he intends to help in the rebuilding of the Bayswater Satmar Kehillah. The Rebbe started the day off at Yeshiva Darchei Torah where he delivered a drasha on Shavuos to the older bachurim of the yeshiva and to local residents.
From there the Rebbe went to a private reception in his honor, with community Rabbonim and community leaders, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Edelman. The Rebbe spoke about the importance of having a place for people to learn from the early hours of the morning to the wee hours of the night.
The Rebbe was then available to the Five Towns Community for private brachos and divrei chizuk. It was a great zechus to the residents of the area to have such a great leader of yidden all over the world visit them, and will be remembered for ever.

>>Are there any places currently in 5 Towns where people can learn from the early hours of the morning to the wee hours of the night?
I would say AT LEAST a dozen. There are many hard learning ballei battim, particularly in Lawrence and Far Rockaway (you have any idea how many yungeleit are learning there?). And its not like other communities where rov are ballei teshuva–these are people who learned their whole life. The standards are high.
The bayswater satmer is run by kj there are many yungerleit that live bayswater& Far rockaway that i know personally that learn all day (or most)
