Halachically, frozen is the same as fresh I asked a Rav. He says the only difference is checked or unchecked. The freezing process doesnt make bugs mutar. The reason why blending helps is because once it is blended its not a complete bug and the issur is on eating a bug as a whole being, not bug mush.
