In the wake of the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks relaunch in Washington last week, and ahead of Hillary Clinton and George Mitchell heading to the next round of talks in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt and Jerusalem next week, the Obama administration is continuing to step up its outreach to Jewish and Muslim American leaders and other key domestic constituencies.

President Barack Obama himself will do a conference call with rabbis this afternoon, Jewish leaders said. And Vice President Joseph Biden hosts Jewish leaders at a pre-Rosh Hashana reception at his Naval Observatory residence this evening.

Clinton, meantime, hosts an Iftar dinner that will include “some of the best and most innovative American Muslim leaders under 30” this evening, as the State Department described the “Generation Change” event.  She also gave a joint interview to Israeli and Palestinian television journalists Friday, a day after she hosted face to face talks of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas at the State Department last week.
