I will have to ask him when I get a chance. My understanding was that unless you know someone is Jewish (and halachically Jewish, not just ethnically Jewish), its not a problem. If you know someone is 100% halachically Jewish, you should avoid it.
I don’t go looking for trouble. I don’t question someone’s background unless I have reason to. Sometimes I make mistakes and I can’t help that.
