I went to be menachem aveil and heard this amazing story. The niftar at one time was a Rosh Yeshiva of a small yeshvia in Chicago. He was giving a shiur to his students and realized they were very restless. He asked them what was going on and they said they were having a serious math test that afternoon and they didn’t quite understand the math. He told them all to close their Gemaras and proceeded to explain the math to them. Once they were all comfortable and seemed to “get it”, he told them they could reopen their Gemaras and they could resume learning.
