The man accused of slashing a Muslim taxi driver last week was formally indicted on hate crime charges Monday.
Prosecutors say Michael Enright, 21, also waived his right to appear at a court hearing in Manhattan.
Enright is now set to be arraigned next month on attempted murder and assault — both as hate crimes.
He’s being held without bail in a psychiatric ward.
Prosecutors say a drunken Enright greeted the cabbie in Arabic, proclaimed “consider this a checkpoint” and then slashed the driver’s throat, arm and lip.
