Sounds like a semantics focus. I don’t disagree with your last comment. Of course having a good time is a necessary ingredient of a date. My main point was though that someone shouldn’t go on dates to have a good time if they know marriage is not at least a possible outcome. IOW, they shouldn’t go out on dates to have fun with no intention of pursuing possible consideration of marrying their date.
