An American Airlines 767 jet is parked at a remote section of tarmac at San Francisco International Airport after someone phoned in a threat to the plane.
“TSA is aware of an alleged threat made via phone against American Airlines flight 24 (SFO-JFK) before take-off,” the Transportation Security Administration said in a written statement. “Out of an abundance of caution, TSA requested the plane be moved to a remote location. Passengers are being deplaned and will be interviewed and rescreened. The aircraft will be swept by local law enforcement.”
KTVU REPORTS: A threat of a potential hijacker onboard an American Airlines 767 jet at San Francisco International Airport Thursday forced the flight to be delayed and the passengers rescreened, officials said.
A spokesman for the San Francisco International Airport said a threat was called in to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department reporting that a hijacker may be onboard.
The plane was taken to the tarmac and the passengers were to be removed and rescreened.
