NJ Parking Garage Collapses At Hackensack Apartment Building

Hackensack, NJ – A parking garage at a New Jersey apartment building tower collapsed this morning and rescuers are being called to the Hackensack building to determine if anyone has been trapped in the rubble, police said.

The collapse at 300 Prospect Avenue was reported at around 10 a.m. Authorities said two or three of the apartment building’s parking garage collapsed. It is unclear if anyone has been trapped and police plan to use dogs to search the collapse.

No injuries have been reported, though the search remains ongoing, according to NorthJersey.com

Video from News 12 New Jersey’s helicopter show a large sink hole near the garage and chunks of the rubble along the exterior of the garage’s bottom two floors.

Police evacuated a one-block radius around the Prospect Towers building.

Real estate websites describe the Prospect Towers as an 18-story high-rise building with a full-time concierge, pool, and sun deck.
