Ms. Health, please relax. No one is ignoring teh swine flu. We just feel, as most people do, that too much coverage and hype is being given to what is clearly just another disease. Every couple of years the medical community/WHO/CDC unveils another “apocalypse” pandemic to frighten us (remember avian flu and SARS, to name a couple of recent ones). Really it’s just about their job security. Because, really, what good do they do besides naming new diseases? It’s still the doctors who give care and do the patient research.
What was the big deal about MMC letting 3 PA’s go if they are in such high demand? I’m sure that these friends of your friends who go to school and work in MMC will be able to get “grabbed up” by some other hospital.
Can you please answer me why you are so interested in hyping this up? It’s not about awareness, because I think you can see we all know about teh swine flu. So what makes it personal to you, other than the PA’s?
