Joseph, Not sure if you realized this but you, who reads and responds to posts here in the CR and on the mainpage and has done so for quite a long time, have just classified yourself as a ba’al Loshon Hora. (btw – to talk about yourself in that way is L’H also so although you say it, we can;t believe it). Not only that but by your definition you have spoken L’H against all the posters here as well as the editors and moderators of YWN mainpage and the CR.

Perhaps the intent of YWN, who has been known to provide a valuable service to the community, reports these events leto’eles in order to let people know what to avoid and perhaps if some Yeshiva bochurim read about these smuggling cases and other events of the day, they will think twice before accepting getting involved. Remember the story about the two fellows who realized while on a plane, that the envelopes they were carrying may contain contraband and they disposed of it. What made them realize there might be a problem – perhaps they or someone they know read a news story on YWN and they learned about it.

Publicizing these events without the names(no need) for the intent of educating the community about the dangers of smuggling and the Chilul HaShem, not to mention the jail time and other social consequences is leto’eles.
