hss- you are right unfortunately the frum world is such that yichus can help determine ones social standing i.e.being accepted in the most prestigious seminary; yeshiva katanah or gedolah; shiduchim… Yichus= being a somebody. I am a nobody and nobody is perfect. What I mean is in the eyes of Hashem everyone is accountable and ones yichus is no assurance for divine distiction.
