ames- isnt that how it was in Europe? only those who were seen as talmudic geniuses were supported by the community while they sat and learned. Some of those sitting in kollel are geniuses and should be supported. but there are some that are there for “peer pressure” reasons. everyone is moving to lakewood and learning in kollel so I want to too… ect. why must this be the case? let those who will become the next gedolei hador be supported, but is every Yakov, avraham and moishe going to be one?
