This is really good – promise.
Batter:
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
3 tablespoons margarine
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 cup tofutti sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
Filling:
1 (8 ounce) package tofutti cream cheese
3 tablespoons margarine
1-1/2 teaspoons flour
¼ cup sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla
Topping:
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt together chocolate chips and margarine (I use a microwave) and stir until smooth. Cool slightly. Cream together shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Beat in melted chocolate, tofutti sour cream and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients.
In a separate bowl, mix together all the filling ingredients until smoothly blended.
In a third bowl, combine all topping ingredients.
Pour half the batter into a greased 10-inch springform pan. Spread filling on top of this and then half the topping. Top with remaining batter and remaining topping. Bake in center of oven for approximately 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out mostly clean.
