Ames, it sounds like this is NOT a good shidduch for all concerned. If the guy is already not standing up for his kallah against his mother, there is NO chance he will do so after the wedding. I personally know a shidduch that ended erev shabbos of the auf ruf, because the chosson’s father was so controlling. The girl got off lucky. The ex-chosson still has that guy for a father!
