Vandals struck a Jewish cemetery on Brockett Place, toppling about 30 gravestones and spray painting a swastika on a stone entrance gate. The cemetery is used by a number of burial associations affiliated with area synagogues. The three associations that were affected were Bikur Cholim Sheveth Achim, Beth Hamedrosh Westville Synagogue and the Hebrew Free Burial Association.

Officials at Congregation Bikur Cholim Sheveth Achim and The Westville Synagogue, both Orthodox synagogues in New Haven’s Westville section, could not be reached for comment. Slane said police have no suspects and are looking for help to solve the crime.
