It is possible to have different levels of friendship. Really close friends probably need to be going through the same stage of life to stay close. The most casual friendships don’t require anything of the sort. As an example, I don’t think that anyone here in the CR is my age, but I consider us friends. Obviously we are not the closest type of friends, but age does not matter much here.
