Joseph, I put my stock in gedolim. I also know that the rule I learned in yeshiva was not to pasken by kol korehs, as they are often put out by askanim with personal agendas. the quote from rav shmuel kaminetzky in the Jewish Star article was confirmed for me by my rav last year. We know that their signatures were there last year, and they weren’t there this year. If they assured it, it surely would be on the kol koreh.
