There are lots of things I would love to do that would bring me temporary happiness, and are probably bad for me. Fortunately I am a grownup and realize that this desire for immediate gratification is childish. I have seen otherwise nice bochurim vomiting their guts up or doing worse (ON MY LAWN), because they got smashed on Purim and/or Simchas Torah at the Yeshivah next door to my home. Please don’t talk about “bringing anyone happiness,” smoking is unquestionably unhealthy and stinky-smelling at bestm, and deadly to the smoker and anyone around him on a regular basis, at worst. No rov should allow cigarettes in any Yeshivah at any time, and it should be strongly assered, in schmoozes.
