At the cabinet meeting held on Thursday 18 Adar, Minister Naftali Bennet called on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to become involved in Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman’s threat to shut down the Bnei David IDF prepatory yeshiva in Yishuv Eli. Bennet expects the prime minister to torpedo Lieberman’s ultimatum, that Rav Yigal Levinstein apologize and resign from the yeshiva or the Defense Ministry will halt its recognition of Bnei David as a mechina. This means all funding will be cut in addition to the fact talmidim wishing to attend a mechina prior to IDF service will not have Bnei David as an option.
Bennet accuses the prime minister of bailing out and betraying the dati leumi community “at the moment of truth”, citing the sizable contribution the mechinot and the dati leumi community has made to the state.
Bennet added that while Levinstein’s comments are very problematic and he too rejects them, there is no room to silence opinions and as far as closing Bnei David down, he calls on Mr. Netanyahu intervene.
Bennet earlier told Lieberman that Bnei David would be closed only after he eliminated former Hamas PM Ismail Haniyeh, something he said he would do when he becomes Defense Minister.

Serving the State is at the heart of all tyrannical regimes. Under such a system the State is just an euphemism for the rulers and their families. The rulers demand loyalty and obedience but offer nothing in return other than allowing their slaves to live. As soon as the slave is of no use, he is eliminated or sold.
After all they have been through, I would have thought that the dati leumi people would have caught on to this. They give their loyalty, obedience and lives to the State and all they have gotten in return is destroyed homes and public insults. The Hareidim have been warning them for generations that you can not trust haters of Torah. They have a smile on their face but a knife ready hidden behind their back.
The day of reckoning is coming for the dati leumi- is their first loyalty to Torah, and H’ OR to the IDF.They will have to give ultimatums to the IDF:stop all the far-leftist,radical feminist junk to undermine mitzvot observance or we’ll also refuse to serve.
