A federal judge in New Orleans, Louisiana, has blocked a six-month federal moratorium on deepwater drilling in the Gulf.
Several dozen plaintiffs had sued President Barack Obama’s administration, arguing the ban would create long-term economic harm to their businesses. Obama ordered the moratorium after the April 20 explosion of an oil rig off Louisiana that killed 11 people and triggered an underwater oil gusher.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs says the government will immediately appeal the ruling to the 5th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.
“The president strongly believes… that continuing to drill at these depths without knowing what happened does not make any sense, and puts the safety of those involved…and the environment in the Gulf at a danger that the president does not believe we can afford right now,” White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said.

Well Mr 6ibbs perhaps you could ask the president why they have to go all the way out there & at such depths to drill fr oil?
On the other hand, let me answer my own question. It has to do with the environmental wakkos out there who force companies to drill that far out.

CAN’T drill in deep water Yet obama’s administration gave $2 billion to Petrobras [brazil’s government own oil company to drill in even deeper wells in the atlantic. HUH. obama is a crook. And his buddy will make money on the deal. Not drillings means 150000 lay offs and more imported oil. Check fox news Glenn Beck yesterday and you will find the answer why he wants to freeze drilling here to import from there. nixon had nothing on obama and at least he supoorted Israel
