Nicotine addiction is one of the MOST powerful yitzrei hara in existence. People dying from emphysema, hooked up to machines that are helping them to get a LITTLE breath into their lungs, will still continue to puff away until the day they die, knwoing they are already dying and every new puff is counteracting the machine’s mission to help them breathe.
