Operations were back to normal early Sunday morning after a terminal at Los Angeles International Airport was partially closed because of a security threat.
Police cleared out the upper departures level of the Tom Bradley International Terminal after a man entered the terminal and “made threatening statements” around 5 p.m. (8 p.m. ET), the airport said.
CNN affiliate KTLA-TV cited an airport spokesman as saying that the man grabbed a passenger’s luggage outside the terminal and ran inside claiming he had a bomb.
The man was taken into custody and police conducted a security sweep before reopening the terminal about 5:30 p.m., the airport said.
The half-hour closure caused minor delays to some outbound flights, the airport said.
