i think it’s because people don’t know the limits between “respect” and “worship.” my rav is very makpid not to have his picture all over the place. yes, he’s in pictures at his children’s weddings and stuff. but he got very upset when he was told that his picture was framed in a sforim store. i think they actually agreed to take it down and not to sell it.
