A special election to fill a state Assembly seat in Manhattan has been rescheduled to June 5th from May 22nd. The rescheduling of the election for the seat formerly held by Democrat Pete Grannis was made after Governor Spitzer learned that some polling places would be closing early on May 22nd because of the Yom Tov of Shavuos. The 65th Assembly District seat on Manhattan’s East side was left vacant after Grannis resigned to become the state’s environmental conservation commissioner.
There are currently two vacancies in the Democrat-controlled Assembly. A special election is being held May first to fill the Rockland County seat held by the late Democrat Kenneth Zebrowski. He died on March 18th.

THATS VERY NICE
Spitzer also just introduced the first “alternative lifestyle” bill – making him the first governor in the country to ever do such a thing.
