I was appaled to see the Klausenburg “simcha” in middle of sefira they had live music and dancing as if it was adar, do they not know its sefira and listening to music is assur!. so you’ll say they had a heter there is no excuse why they couldnt push it of until lag b’omer especially if it was pushed off already. if you want to do it in you chassidisha town do what you want dont come to lakewood and do what you want when in rome do as the romans
IT WAS REB Y.S. ELIYASHEV THAT SAID THEY SHOULD HAVE MUSIC
as a lakewood ben torah iam suprised that they had music .first the klausenberger rabbi z”tl was a very big machmir on hilchos aveilis so just to look somewere else for a heter does not make to much sense.
second hrav r’ shlomo zalmen aurbach z”tl in the sefer halichos shlomo (page 361)hilchos sfiras haomar says that it’s absolutely asur to have music by a hacnosas sesfer torah so i”am suprised that lakewood made no issue about it.
Whoever didn’t see: the music truck had huge posters on both sides with the pesak of a “litvishe” gadol Harav Eliyashiv, which was written by Harav Efrati special for this event, where he said it’s mutar to have music for a hacnosas sefer torah and even said that Harav Eliyashiv sent his sons in the sefira days while they were also in the mourning year of their mother a”h to hacnosas sefer torah with music.
