One other thing: Avraham Avinu breaking the idols was an act of kana’us, not a trait we tend to think of with Avraham. I just don’t think most of us can do such kana’usdik acts on our own. Certainly not this case. (On another thread someone quoted Rav Aharon Soloveitchik’s opinions on certain genres of music. Imaging if someone decided to raid his brother’s room and throw out all the CDs based on that quote.)
