As a child I used to often see shoes hanging from telephone and electric wires. I haven’t seen that in a long time. (Still living in the same city.) Happened to see it again today and remembered about them.
What on earth is this all about?
My wife told me it has to do with drugs
It’s not usually about drugs. It’s bored people with old shoes who want to see if they can get it onto the wire.
Its about holes. 🙂
In my town, I heard they’re meant to indicate drug dealer’s place of residence or sale. But I assume Reb Yidd must be correct, because if I heard about it then I’m sure the police have heard about it way before me. So though they may have been used for drugs at one point, I think they’re a form of modern urban art now.
I was told it marked gang territories.
most people dont know this but since i unfortunately know people either on drugs or once were they said it means theirs drug selling going on somewhere near there.
