Can anyone recommend a frum used car dealership?

Why does the car have to be frum?

    Is the car dealership frum?

Are my photographs frum? Is the SQL code I write frum? Is the food I cook frum?

Perhaps you should have asked for a car dealership owned/operated by a frum Jew.

There are many used car dealerships operated by frum jews. Pick up a local hemishe weekly or monthly in flatbush, BP, Williamsburg, Monsey, 5 towns, Lakewood or any other sizeable frum neighborhood and go through the ads.

Less and Wolfish, I am so glad that my inelegant phrasing gave you an opportunity to demonstrate your superior intelligence to us all with your acerbic and witty barb. All others, thank you for the advice.

My apologies. I meant it in more of a joking manner and certainly didn’t mean to come off sounding acerbic. However, re-reading it in retrospect, I can certainly see why you would think that I did. My apologies.

This may be out of date…

A&R on 16th Ave. and 40th St. in Boro Park. Recommended to me by a couple of colleagues when I needed a minivan more than a decade ago. I bought from him and was happy.

New York Auto Mall. Run by a guy I went to yeshiva with. A couple of relatives bought their cars there and were happy.

Good luck. Tizku lemitzvos for looking to help a frum guy make a living.

My comment wasn’t meant to be acerbic, just humorous. Please don’t be so sensitive.

A location would be helpful…I have been happy with Maven Motors in Baltimore.

JF02, I was looking for Brooklyn locations, but I’m not averse to Jersey.

I used to think that was important, until I got better service at a business establishment owned and operated by non-Jews. (My case was about a dry cleaner, but the point remains the same.)

TM: ignoring the Halachik aspect for now, are you implying that non Frum owned car dealerships are more reliable/give better service based on your experiences with a dry cleaners?

I don’t know, because whenever I bought a car, I bought it new, from a dealership. I didn’t look to see who the owner was. Frum or non-frum, I’m going to go where I get the best service, period.

Mammele, it’s not an implication. If I can buy produce and groceries at Stop n Shop at considerably better prices and service, that’s where I’m going. If I can get better prices with comparable or better service from a non frum/jewish uuto dealer that is where I’m going.

takah: And if you knew in advance you could get equal service and price between a frum dealer and a non-frum/non-Jew, who were of equal convenience to you and equal in whatever other respects important, would you give the frum guy preference?

B & T Auto Sales on 39th street Between 14th and 15th avenues. I have not used them to purchase a car; I do use them as they are also mechanics.

There are two problems in buying from someone frum. The first is Lashon Harah. Similar to shidduchim, people are extremely relunctant to say anything bad about frum stores and businessmen. As a result how do you really know how trustworthy and reliable the dealer really is? I found this out the hard way. I bought replacement windowa from a frum guy. It took him months to do the job and he had my deposit. It turned out he was underfinanced and couldn’t get a line of credit. He was using new customer deposits to buy windows for previous customers.

The second problem refers to the first: bais din versus civil court

    Yes, I would.
