Chad Gad Ya

Here is my little drasha on Chad Gad Ya the zmir with which the Seder ends.

We all know the zmir by heart one form of being is destroyed by a greater being. The question is why do we end the Seder on this note? during the course of the Seder we celebrate our freedom from slavery and we act as kings reclining and such, i think the reason we end the Seder with this zmir is to always be humble so you think your a great this or a great that well guess what there is someone better don’t be haughty appreciate the gifts that were given to you by HKBH and appreciate others for what makes them special.

All to often life becomes a contest to see who can outdo the other. why my house has 3 floors a 4 car garage that makes me special, my father gives twice as much tzedakah as yours, i have big yichus, i am frummer , this is a trap we fall into life is not a competition it is up to each individual to be the best they can be and to always strive to improve but always remember you are not the be all and end all the Seder is over now you are no longer a king/queen Chad Gad Ya.
