Police are investigating a shootout at a Coney Island housing complex last night that seriously injured four people – including a 36-year-old mother of seven.

Authorities responded to a call of a dispute outside the Coney Island Houses on West 35th street just before 9 last night.

Sources say a group of men got into an argument with two teenage boys. Shots rang out, and the mother of the teens, Victoria Rogucki, was hit in the head.

“They’re saying it’s over an argument and the mother was shot innocently. She shouldn’t have been shot,” said a friend of Rogucki’s family. “She just came out to tell her kids to come inside. She should have never been shot.”

Three men who were arguing with her sons were also shot.

Police say two of them were later involved in a car accident near West 16th Street and Surf Avenue.

The injured people were taken to Lutheran Hospital.

Police believe that none of the shooting victims wielded a weapon.
