January 8, 2016 2:33 pm at 2:33 pm #1134875👑RebYidd23ParticipantI know all of you. I spy on you with little cameras disguised as flies.
January 8, 2016 3:27 pm at 3:27 pm #1134876HashemisreadingParticipantI was in a store last night getting cholent and the guy in front of me was on his phone and I saw him log on to Yeshiva world, and then on to the CR, and then he put his username in and I was so shocked!! I totally did not expect him to be like that!
January 8, 2016 4:23 pm at 4:23 pm #1134877☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWhats real life?

January 8, 2016 7:16 pm at 7:16 pm #1134879Avram in MDParticipantIf you’ve met Joseph, how many posters do you count?
🙂
January 8, 2016 7:32 pm at 7:32 pm #1134880👑RebYidd23ParticipantNice shirt!
January 8, 2016 7:50 pm at 7:50 pm #1134881JosephParticipantAvram: Jews should not be counting people.
January 8, 2016 8:30 pm at 8:30 pm #1134882HolalaParticipantWhat I know. Noeone
January 21, 2016 4:56 pm at 4:56 pm #1134883HashemisreadingParticipantShopping how did you get 2 posters emails?
January 21, 2016 5:10 pm at 5:10 pm #1134884ayingleParticipanti don’t understand…

January 21, 2016 5:47 pm at 5:47 pm #1134885golferParticipantOh. I thought we all knew each other.
January 21, 2016 6:05 pm at 6:05 pm #1134886ayingleParticipantyw coffee room is the new/old vertual reality
January 21, 2016 7:30 pm at 7:30 pm #1134887WolfishMusingsParticipantI also know that there are several posters who know me in real life, but I don’t know who they are.

January 21, 2016 8:31 pm at 8:31 pm #1134888mobicoParticipantDo you mean to imply that the Coffee Room is not real life?
January 21, 2016 10:00 pm at 10:00 pm #1134889ayingleParticipantrebyidd:”perhaps”
January 24, 2016 1:57 pm at 1:57 pm #1134890Shopping613 ðŸŒParticipantHashemisreading- I have my ways 😉 Actually a poster emailed me last week since she saw an article I wrote in a magazine and emailed me that I remind her of a poster in the CR. Guess I have the same writing style everywhere I write! lol
January 24, 2016 2:31 pm at 2:31 pm #1134891JosephParticipantSo you don’t know if your emailpal is merely a reader-only or a participant here.
January 24, 2016 4:00 pm at 4:00 pm #1134892flatbusherParticipantYW makes it impossible to know the identity of anyone here, unless somehow people have found a way short of of clearly identifying themselves
I will occasionally email various posters identities to each other in the hopes of resolving the shidduch crisis
January 24, 2016 4:45 pm at 4:45 pm #1134893writersoulParticipantLol! My friend just emailed me about something I wrote in the CR… though she’s known my screenname for a good four years or so so it wasn’t a tremendous shock to either of us…
I know the identities of two or three other posters as well, with the unfortunate tradeoff being that they know who I am also 🙂
(Just saying- I make it very easy for people with the right context to know who I am- just pretend you don’t notice, awright? Makes lives so much simpler 🙂 )
January 24, 2016 4:52 pm at 4:52 pm #1134894JosephParticipantwritersoul, I’m bringing over some cookies we baked.
January 24, 2016 5:06 pm at 5:06 pm #1134895Shopping613 ðŸŒParticipantNo I see that she says she posts something or will email me something here and usually does.
January 24, 2016 5:07 pm at 5:07 pm #1134896Shopping613 ðŸŒParticipantMOD: How do you know who is single and what gender they are? Or do you have guessing games?
January 24, 2016 8:30 pm at 8:30 pm #1134898Bookworm120Participant“I will occasionally email various posters identities to each other in the hopes of resolving the shidduch crisis”
*hides*
Please check your email
just kidding
January 25, 2016 7:06 pm at 7:06 pm #1134899HashemisreadingParticipantMods I actually think ther emust be so many shidduchim right here in our cozy little coffee room. There are so many of us who share the same views on life.
We do not know who is male and who is female.
January 25, 2016 7:39 pm at 7:39 pm #1134900👑RebYidd23ParticipantPosters here have suggested shidduchim saying that if these two posters are single and of opposite genders, then they are suggesting the shidduch.
January 26, 2016 4:42 pm at 4:42 pm #1134901Shopping613 ðŸŒParticipantBut there has yet to be a CR wedding. If it did happen, would we all be invited?
January 26, 2016 6:33 pm at 6:33 pm #1134902HashemisreadingParticipantWe do not know who is male and who is female.
Come on, cant we usually figure it out?
January 26, 2016 10:47 pm at 10:47 pm #1134903Shopping613 ðŸŒParticipantNot all the time. It’s online, anyone can pretend to be another gender.
January 27, 2016 3:00 pm at 3:00 pm #1134904HashemisreadingParticipantI know but their way of talking can usually give it away.
January 27, 2016 5:33 pm at 5:33 pm #1134905Shopping613 ðŸŒParticipantYou can easily pretend. Someone who is trying really hard and is knows of everything they write..
January 27, 2016 7:43 pm at 7:43 pm #1134906screwdriverdelightParticipantI will occasionally email various posters identities to each other in the hopes of resolving the shidduch crisis
But there has yet to be a CR wedding.
Resolving the shiduch crisis doesn’t necessarily mean people will get married. It just means more people will go out with each other.
January 27, 2016 7:44 pm at 7:44 pm #1134907HashemisreadingParticipantShopping, trust me, no one thinks your a guy.
January 27, 2016 7:45 pm at 7:45 pm #1134908screwdriverdelightParticipantBut there has yet to be a CR wedding. chaplainzvi and gefen got married via the CR.
January 27, 2016 7:54 pm at 7:54 pm #1134909☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantResolving the shiduch crisis doesn’t necessarily mean people will get married. It just means more people will go out with each other.
Sure, if you define “the shidduch crisis” as not having many dates. According to that definition, chassidim have the worst shidduch crisis, since they have beshows.
January 27, 2016 8:00 pm at 8:00 pm #1134910JosephParticipantchaplainzvi and gefen got married via the CR.
That was a remarriage/confirmation ceremony.
But what about yummycupcake?
January 27, 2016 8:02 pm at 8:02 pm #1134911screwdriverdelightParticipantyummycupcake didn’t get married to another poster (or did she?)
January 27, 2016 8:03 pm at 8:03 pm #1134912screwdriverdelightParticipantSure, if you define “the shidduch crisis” as not having many dates. According to that definition, chassidim have the worst shidduch crisis, since they have beshows.
How you define the shiduch crisis doesn’t effect how it’s resolved.
January 27, 2016 8:24 pm at 8:24 pm #1134913HashemisreadingParticipantSDD:How you define the shiduch crisis doesn’t effect how it’s resolved.
yes it does, because the next step after defining the shidduch crisis is resolving the shidduch crisis.
We wouldn’t be able to resolve it before we define it!
January 28, 2016 2:59 pm at 2:59 pm #1134914Shopping613 ðŸŒParticipantI think they were married BEFORE the cr
January 28, 2016 7:53 pm at 7:53 pm #1134915👑RebYidd23ParticipantYou can define it as something that’s already been resolved.
January 28, 2016 8:00 pm at 8:00 pm #1134916HashemisreadingParticipantRebyidd: You can define it as something that’s already been resolved.
Huh? I don’t see how that’s a definition.
January 28, 2016 8:03 pm at 8:03 pm #1134917☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantSay, for example, we defined the shidduch crisis as the inability to discuss shidduchim in a public forum. With the CR, that’s been resolved.
January 28, 2016 8:11 pm at 8:11 pm #1134918HashemisreadingParticipantDaasyochid: But that’s the wrong definition!
Among the possible definitions of the shidduch crisis are the following:
a) The age gap
b) the freezer
c) the boys mother
d) the girls are picky
e) the boys are shallow
f) the girls are too deep for the shallow boys
g) there are more girls than boys
And unfortunately many more. That’s what I call a definition, or an explanation of the shidduch crisis. Not cryptic wording that Rebyidd makes up to make himself sound smart.
Feel free to add on plausible definitions, going all the way to Z and then aa, bb and so on.
January 28, 2016 8:11 pm at 8:11 pm #1134919screwdriverdelightParticipantI’d rather define it as the inability to discuss anything other than shiduchim in a public forum. With the CR, we see it firsthand.
January 28, 2016 8:14 pm at 8:14 pm #1134920☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThere is no wrong definition of the shidduch crisis. If there were, your list would be (almost?) all wrong.
January 28, 2016 8:15 pm at 8:15 pm #1134921☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantSDD, so if we shut down all public forums, we’d solve it.
January 28, 2016 8:16 pm at 8:16 pm #1134922HashemisreadingParticipantBut the point really is, how many posters do you know in real life?
January 28, 2016 8:16 pm at 8:16 pm #1134923screwdriverdelightParticipantHIR (to save DY the task):
h) the inability to discuss shidduchim in a public forum
Presto!
January 28, 2016 8:17 pm at 8:17 pm #1134924screwdriverdelightParticipantDY, That’s one way of solving it. Or you can get more people to go out with each other.
