B”H there are words in the middle of the page too.
They were also there before Rashi was introduced to the layout.
November 17, 2015 7:22 pm at 7:22 pm #1112216apushatayidParticipantwhy do you think the maggid shiur didnt learn rashi? perhaps what bothers you is that the maggid shiur isnt reading the rashi word for word as well? if you want such a shiur, join a 5th grade class in most boys yeshivas.

He didn’t say that. He said he was looking for a shiur that the magid shiur goes through rashi inside.

Why do you assume I was responding to the OP?
“Not very nice”
Why do you make silly assumptions?

The second half of your statement didn’t look like it was addressing Meno as he didn’t say he was looking for a shiur and my presumption was that everything you said was directed at one person.
I’m not sure who else you might have been addressing.
I must be missing the peirush Rashi on this thread.

November 18, 2015 12:47 am at 12:47 am #1112222Bentch KvetcherParticipantI’ve always wanted to give such a shiur but there isn’t much interest I don’t understand why.

November 18, 2015 4:19 am at 4:19 am #1112225Sam2Participantson: If you learn the Gemara without Rashi (/any Peirush) then you’re probably learning the Gemara wrong. R’ Moshe says you cannot make a Siyum on learning Gemara without Rashi.
November 18, 2015 5:31 am at 5:31 am #1112226sonMemberSam2: I’m not against Rashi (or any other peirush), I simply think that it’s important to figure out how you might read a gemara before approaching rishonim, and to compare and contrast once you’ve seen whichever rishonim you might see to figure out “what did I read differently”.
