why is everyone so literal in the cr?
When im trying to bring a point and exaggerate it with a metaphor, its completely unnecessary for someone to point out that my metaphor is ridiculous. I am well aware that its ridiculous, its a metaphor! (And if youre thinking that a metaphor isnt exactly how i described it, please go through and point it out)
If i tell someone that theyre one of those old people who… I understand that theyre probably not that old because what really old guy is on ywn!
Everyone has to relax and start their own personal plunger removal!
Not everyone is so literal, only some people.
It’s not completely unnecessary, only mostly unnecessary.
A metaphor should have have some basis, otherwise it’s mostly (notice, I didn’t say completely) meaningless.
It wasn’t a guy who rebutted you, it was a girl.
Not everyone needs to relax, only most people.
Not everyone needs a plunger removed. In fact, most people don’t.
Chill.

(Actually not really talking, you’re probably typing, or if you’re defending those gadget nosed fellows, you’re perhaps ‘texting’ a post.)
So Plumber (he’s actually an accountant or pilot, probably never touched said tool) writes (actually keyed in) “I love when old people come on and comment about things like this…”
– I have a niggling feeling he (just supposing she’s a he) actually meant “hate”.
– There are plenty of old people who grace our cozy home. One of whom actually claims to have seen the Chofetz Chaim (IRL, that is) (s/n is est. age!).
– I’m the only one that I know, who commented as such.
– Most people (froggies too) come here to relax, chill out.

– We’ve already plunged out (two at a time)
Metaphors are usually used to help people get your point
by applying it in another context where they’ll understand
why you’re right. If your metaphor doesn’t match up with
what you’re trying to say, people might get annoyed.
