Has anyone got any ideas for how to stop stemmed wine glasses falling over all the time at the seder? Something like a car cup holder but for a table – and a pesach table at that!
The only thing I’ve been able to find is called a “yoebi” for some reason and was made for boats. Our seder table can end up a bit like a boat sometimes.
Any suggestions much appreciated. Lets put an end to ruining tablecloths, haggodos, smashing wineglasses…

If it’s really getting out of hand, gavr6, and the thought of a plastic tablecloth makes you cringe, then just take DY’s advice.

And you’re right… why should spilling wine glasses be a regular part of having a sedar meal (or Shabbos, or any meal with stemmed wine glasses).
Even a dinner of just adults sometimes results in tipped over glasses… hmm.

December 6, 2017 12:46 am at 12:46 am #1420751LightbriteParticipantYes, but are we talking about room temperature wine?
And room temperature wine can still be heated by our hands…
Plus the stemware adds space on the table, since you can slip the base under your plate (so it takes up less table real estate).

We don’t use wine glasses with stems at the seder but use them on a regular basis on shabbosim and don’t have any issue with them tipping over. Why do you have an issue with them at the seder?
December 6, 2017 12:19 pm at 12:19 pm #1421119LightbriteParticipantSorry iacisrmma for not dating it… I promised that I’d continue doing that… is there a way to halachically and morally end the contract with you please?
I know that you already told me the pronunciation of your username —thank you for that(!)
Do I have your permission to complete the contract retroactively last Kol Nidre? I thought about it then, but didn’t know the protocol.. maybe this is a Ask Your OR shaila?
Thank you iacisrmma, in advance, for your consideration.
December 6, 2017 12:29 pm at 12:29 pm #1421170iacisrmmaParticipantLB: I started to answer and was wondering why are we talking about the seder when it wasn’t even chanukah so I looked at the OP and realized it was “bumped”. That being said, we do not have an “official” contract so if you make a mistake “no harm, no foul”.

Appreciate, even if it’s a bit late. -
