I support man united and yes as you say I am a glory supporter, also there are a lot of good football clubs out there including Liverpool, Man city, Chelsea, Everton, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Barecelona, Athletico Madrid, Intermilan, and so on. Football is a good thing also there are some knackers who say that it’s going in the way of the goyim also wearing clubs T-Shirts is the same well I think it’s not if you don’t want to watch football yourself don’t but there’s no reason to boss others. I think I’ve said enough on the coffee room for one day. Bye bye.
October 21, 2014 9:44 pm at 9:44 pm #1037766sirvoddmortMemberEverton?
I mean, they’re decent but they do not belong on that list. Nor, for that matter, do Manchester United, on current form. And no, I would not accuse you of being a glory supporter, seeing as there is precious little around Old Trafford at this present moment.
October 21, 2014 10:25 pm at 10:25 pm #1037767BTGuyParticipantMan United? That’s not real football. That’s soccer. I am on the British site or something? Let me check.

PLease refer to the other thread, regarding football ‘role models’, for my view on this matter. No, you are not on the British site, you are on the international site. And internationally, football is the accepted term for the world’s most popular sport.
Kindly refer to what Americans laughingly call a sport as ‘American Football’, or more accurately, ‘slightly rubbish rugby’. This will clear up the obvious confusion.
Any sport where one has to don 10kg of equipment to play, and where the action is played out in ten second bursts every ten minutes, is not a sport (and I know those figures may not be entirely accurate, but the point stands).

Well, you’ve not picked the best teams at the moment, have you?
And showojoe, kindly refer to the other thread. But just for the record, 75% of those currently involved in this thread are referring to what you would call ‘soccer’.
October 22, 2014 12:02 pm at 12:02 pm #1037772zahavasdadParticipantSoccer is just a riot with some people kicking the ball around. I went to a soccer game in Europe and the fans the game was basically a diversion from the fighting in the stands
October 22, 2014 1:52 pm at 1:52 pm #1037773TheGoqParticipantZD the fights in the stands are often more entertaining than the “sport” on the field.
October 22, 2014 5:33 pm at 5:33 pm #1037774sirvoddmortMemberFootball/soccer’s a riot!? As opposed to American Football, where someone shouts, and then the majority of the players’ job is to hit/punch or just stop the other players in their tracks by any means possible? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Any sport where you have to wear armour and helmets just to step on the field, and where for most of the time everybody’s standing around waiting for the action to begin, is not a sport, and certainly not one that even compares to Football (the real version, that is). There’s a reason it’s the most popular sport in the world, whilst American Football is still mainly confined to that one post-colonial country.
October 22, 2014 5:57 pm at 5:57 pm #1037775BTGuyParticipantsirvoddmort, I respectfully have to disagree with you.
Football is football. Soccer is soccer. There is no term “American soccer” versus soccer.
The term football belongs to the NFL. Period.
Now, the logic that 10kg of equipment equals and short bursts of play does not equal a sport, is clearly a flawed syllogism.
While I understand people speak about sports in terms of emotion, football indeed requires great training, skill, and talent on behalf of each athlete and their respective jobs. And this includes speed; great speed, which you identify as a negative.
Further, the strategies played out by team members in each individual position to work to an overall objective (play) and win, or lose and try to come back and win, is indeed a sport of all sports; which can only be played by those talented and conditioned to do so.
In a way, football is like chess where all the pieces move at once simultaneous to the opposition also moving at the same time to defend against the offense.
It is a great sport!
October 23, 2014 3:31 am at 3:31 am #1037777showjoeParticipantbt football dosnt belong exclusively to the nfl. it is also used in foreign countries to mean what we call soccer.
but the rest of your post, i agree with you
October 29, 2014 12:38 am at 12:38 am #1037778BTGuyParticipantHi showjoe. Yes, you are right. I should have posted more carefully. Usually I react and hit out a quick response.
